Valley Forge Tourism & Convention Board Launches Valentine’s Day-inspired Consumer Marketing Campaign
During the month of February, a traditionally slow travel period in the region, the Valley Forge Tourism & Convention Board (VFTCB) is targeting partners, individuals, and families with a consumer marketing program promoting easy-to-plan romantic getaways and date ideas in Montgomery County.
Splurge
“There are so many fun ways to celebrate love in Valley Forge and Montgomery County,” said VFTCB AVP of Marketing Justine Garbarino.
“We want visitors and locals to splurge on a great meal at one of 1,800 restaurants in the county, catch a show at one of our local theaters, and enjoy a day outdoors on our local trails.”
Partners in the Initiative
In partnership with Madden Media, Tucson, Ariz., the campaign strategy targets regional consumers through digital, social media, and audio advertisements on channels that include Pinterest, Spotify, and iHeartRadio.
Campaign advertising is expected to earn roughly three million impressions.
The VFTCB also collaborated with Josh Pellegrini — founder and CEO of Pel Productions and creator of PHL Shooters, a photography community in Philadelphia — on new imagery to promote the February campaign.
Content and Contests
The campaign’s microsite will outline:
- Nearly 30 date ideas across the county
- Itineraries to follow on a getaway
- Most romantic restaurants in Montco
- The best chocolate and candy shops
- Adventurous date spots
- Budget-friendly date ideas
In addition, for the duration of the month-long campaign, the VFTCB will host giveaways via email marketing and social media for gift cards to local restaurants and popular attractions.
Fall in Love with Montgomery County
With this initiative, the VFTCB is hoping to take the hassle out of travel planning. The 80+ hotels in Montgomery County make it very appealing as a spot to turn Valentine’s Day celebrations into perfect staycations.
“This campaign is a first for our organization,” continued Garbarino. “It targets consumers in the drive market to come to Valley Forge and Montgomery County, visit our attractions and restaurants, and stay overnight during a traditional need period for our hotels.
“Our mission is to inspire the world to fall in love with Montgomery County, and this campaign will do just that,” she concluded.
