One of Bucks County’s most renowned medical centers has just entered a collaboration to ensure residents get quality healthcare. John George wrote about the collaboration for the Philadelphia Business Journal.

Doylestown Health and Grand View Health signed a collaboration agreement at the end of 2022 to explore ways in which they can jointly improve access to “high quality local care.”

Each of the two health systems operates one hospital along with a small network of outpatient care centers. Doylestown Health runs Doylestown Hospital, while Grand View Health operates Grand View Hospital in Sellersville.

This collaboration was disclosed last week during a call with bond analysts hosted by Doylestown Health. The struggling independent health system was discussing its decision to potentially sell the Pine Run Retirement Community in order to reduce its debt load.

During the call, Doylestown Health CEO James Brexler noted that the two local health systems had signed a formal agreement to work on exploring partnership opportunities.

“Formalizing the agreement allows us to share certain data and see how we may be able to assist each other,” said Brexler. “We both have challenges and are looking at ways to help each other. There are some overlaps in the communities we serve.”
