The head brewer shared his thoughts not he best brews for the year.

The head brewer of a popular Bucks County brewery has shared his opinion on which type of beer he hopes to see people enjoying this year. Maddy Sweitzer-Lammé wrote about the head brewer for the VinePair.

While it is easy to get comfortable when it comes to buying your regular beer and always reaching for the same six-pack at the grocery store, sometimes it is a good thing to shake things up and try something new

And today, there are more options when it comes to beer than ever before, from modern takes on classic styles such as West Coast IPAs to a lower-alcohol alternative to a heavy beer to so much more.

For Jason Ranck, head brewer at Neshaminy Creek Brewing Company in Croydon, this year should be all about porters.

“I would love to see more people ordering porters in 2023,” he said. “The style is in our blood as Pennsylvanians as it has a long history. Although its flavors are bold, there is a very delicate balance and there is really nothing like it when you find a fine example.”

Other choices recommended by brewers from across the country for this year include West Coast IPA, lagers, fresh beer, dark lager, English ales, and Hazy IPAs.
