One of Bucks County’s biggest hospitals was just given a large grant for their new heart lab, allowing patients to have access to lifesaving treatments. Staff writers at the Bucks County Courier Times wrote about the grant.

St. Mary Medical Center was just gifted a $1 million grant that will go toward the improvement of software and equipment used in the cardiac catheterization labs in its Heart and Vascular Center. The grant was given by the Bristol Myers Squibb Foundation and is the largest donation to the heart center’s campaign to date.

The tools that will be purchased through the grant will help to cut down on times for procedures and patient preparation, as well as radiation emissions from imaging.

“We are incredibly grateful … This gift will have an enormously positive impact on St. Mary’s ability to continue providing our patients with the entire spectrum of cardiac services, through the convenience, completeness and safety of a full-service heart and vascular center,” said Dr. Michael Magro, the president of St. Mary Medical Center.
