A veterans group in Bucks County recently helped to celebrated those who have fallen in the line of duty with a special commemoration. Staff writers from the Lower Bucks Times wrote abut the occasion.

On Dec. 3, the Northampton Township Veterans Advisory Commission hosted the 2022 Hometown Heroes Wreath Laying Ceremony.

Despite heavy rainfall, nearly 100 people showed up to honor the first responders and military who were laid to rest at Union Cemetery at 209 Almshouse Road in Richboro.

The Marine Corps League Patriot Detachment 1230 provided Color Guard and Firing Squad for the event. Kristin Reilly served as Master of Ceremonies, while the invocation was given by Chaplain Doug Fulfold. Meanwhile, Northampton chief of police Steve LeCompte was the keynote speaker.

The ceremony started at 11 AM. Attendees placed wreaths at the headstones marked with an American flag.
