Construction for a Wawa store and gas station in Newtown could begin soon under certain stipulations from the township.

While Wawa is a beloved stop for Bucks County residents, some are beginning to wonder when their expansion will start to end. Bob Fernandez wrote about the popular chain’s expansion for The Philadelphia Inquirer.

In Northampton Township, several residents have been up in arms about another proposed Wawa location that has been talked about for some time. With Provco Pinegood Northampton, LLC aiming to build a new spot in Holland, some are wondering if the are has too many Wawa locations.

Pam Duffy and her son, Brett, have been at the forefront of an effort to raise awareness of the potential traffic and noise that will come into the small town if the new location comes to fruition.

“This intrusive plan will have significant effects on the livelihood of local residents, traffic conditions, safety and our sense of community,” local residents said in a Change.org petition to stop the new Wawa location. “Get ready to say goodbye to the quaint feel of the Holland Village area and welcome in a barrage of new pollution and risks!”
