A historical and author in the Bucks County area has just released a book that discussed the covered bridges that the area is known for.

R. Scott Bomboy, a Bucks County resident and editor-in-chief at the National Constitution Center in Philadelphia, recently published his latest book, “Wooden Treasures: The Story of Bucks County’s Covered Bridges”, about the titular subject.

A historian with vast knowledge on the Bucks County area, Bomboy’s latest work gives readers an inside look into the interesting history of the bridges.

Once a common structure located throughout the area, only 12 of the total 51 original bridges remain, including the Schofield Ford Covered Bridge in Tyler State Park. A small group of people helped to preserve the reaming bridges, and today, they are a fun and interest spot for people to come and visit throughout the area.

Bomboy will be discussing his book at the Newtown Theatre, located at 120 North State Street in Newtown, on Oct. 25. General admission tickets cost $15.
