This Bucks County School District Has Saved Over $1 Million Through Virtual Learning

A total of 46 students are enrolled in the online learning program.

Through the use of an online learning program, a Bucks County school district has been able to save a ton of money on education costs. Dino Ciliberti wrote about the lucrative move for the Warminster Patch.

The school districts’s Centennial Virtual Learning Academy currently has 46 students enrolled. So far, having just shy of 50 students has saved the district almost $1.05 million, according to Centennial School District superintendent Dana Bedden.

“These students are our best advertisement; we have had additional requests from friends of these students but are intentionally keeping our pilot to four class sections this year to monitor student outcomes,” Bedden said.

The online learning program is in its second year, as it was created out of necessity during the COVID-19 pandemic. Being so flexible, families from other Bucks County school districts have begun reaching out for inquiries into these programs. This could be a sign of it becoming a normal fixture of local education.
