The Bucks County school will be offering flu shots and COVID-19 boosters.

After administering over 207,000 doses in the last two years, Bucks County is closing its COVID-19 vaccine clinics, according to a staff report from the Bucks County Courier Times.

The Neshaminy Mall clinic already closed last week, and the clinic at Warwick Square shopping center in Warwick is scheduled to be shut down on Friday, a day before the contract county signed with vaccine vendor Little Big Health Solutions expires.

The county opened its vaccine clinics in February 2021. They are being closed due to a sharp fall in demand and the wide availability of free shots at doctor’s offices and retail pharmacies.

“When our clinics first opened in 2021, COVID vaccines were rare and difficult to find, and so it fell to us to make sure we got the shots to as many people as we could,” said county Health Director Dr. David Damsker.

Now that the vaccines and boosters are “available in nearly every drug store and supermarket, it’s time for the county to step back and refocus the efforts of its staff and resources where we can have greater impact,” he added.
