This Bucks County Park Just Re-Opened and Is Dedicated To All Children of All Abilities
The Miracle League of Northampton Township recently celebrated the reopening of the Miracle League Playground at the Northampton Township Municipal Park in Churchville, writes Dino Ciliberti for the Patch.
The non-profit that supports more than 250 individuals with disabilities across Bucks County and neighboring communities through its high-quality facilities and sports programs noted that the expanded and improved playground is a place “where everyone can play.”
The organization’s members worked with township officials to make improvements to the park in a multi-year effort.
“By creating an all-inclusive playground that includes equipment designed for the needs of children with disabilities, we are providing a variety of developmental options for all our kids to choose from,” said Mary Camp, an executive board member and volunteer coordinator with the Miracle League.
The grand reopening on September 18 was attended by community members, families of Miracle League members, township officials, area politicians, and fire and EMT members.
The playground offers a safe place for all children, regardless of their ability, to explore the main defined areas of developmental skills: sensory, motor, cognitive, and social/emotional.
