The trend has caused a positive uptick in real estate prices and wealth indexes in Bucks County.

Bucks County is one of several areas near Philadelphia that has been seeing an influx of New York natives moving in over the last few years. Ryan Mulligan wrote about the trend for the Philadelphia Business Journal.

Over the last few years, Bucks County had been one of the top Philadelphia-area regions that has seen an influx of new residents who moved from New York State. Specially, many of them came from one of the boroughs of New York City, and they brought their wealth with them.

As a result, homebuyers from the Big Apple came to the area with a average home buyer budget of $588,000, a disparity of 39% when compared to local homebuyers’ budgets of $422,000. This has been a real estate agent’s dream come true.

The trend has had an effect on median household incomes and Adjusted Gross Income (AGI) for homebuyers in Bucks County and other surrounding areas.
