Harcum College is offering the opportunity for prospective Art & Design students to view its program firsthand.

Prospective Art & Design majors are invited to take part in a Harcum College preview of its coursework in an in-depth, personal way. The school’s Oct. 22 “Art & Design Experience” is a morning of hands-on workshops featuring current Harcum College Art & Design majors.

The program takes place at the college’s Art & Design Center at 270 S. Bryn Mawr Ave. from 10 a.m. to noon; its $10 fee covers all materials.

The event is open to anyone considering a degree program in an art or design field, age 16 years and up. The invitation includes transfer students and adult students.

Sessions will be taught by professional graphic artists and illustrators, fashion, and interior designers. The experience also offers a chance to learn about new techniques, trends, and equipment.

Registrants can sign up for one of the following workshops:

Interior Design: Creating a Vision Board

This workshop offers an imaginative session where participants will create an interior design vision board.

A vision board is a tool used to showcase a collage of images, fabric swatches, paint colors, wood samples, and other materials that tell a design story or convey inspiration for one.

The Harcum College opportunity to create a vision board allows prospective students explore interior design ideas and communicate their own sense of taste, style, and overall feel for a room of their choosing.
