Those riding their bikes on Bucks County roads will be a little safer with the new law.

Organizers of an upcoming bike race are hopeful that a bicycle safety law passed in 2012 will keep Bucks County riders safe. Wayne Fish wrote about the upcoming race for the Bucks County Courier Times.

The “Share the Road” was passed in 2012. The main goal of the road safety law is to ensure safety for both automobile and bicycle riders. With an upcoming bike race in the Bucks County area, adherence to this law is more important than ever.

The 11th annual Bucks County Duathlon is set for Sept. 4, and will see Bucks County cyclists travel River Road for 10 miles, in a scenic part of the area that overlooks the Delaware River.

An estimated 100 riders are set to cycle down the Upper Makefield roads, so observance of a safe distance between vehicles and riders is strongly encouraged.

With the law in place and cyclists being very observant in their riding, event organizers are hoping for a safe and fun ride through Bucks County this year.
