The Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board (PLCB) has awarded Manor College a grant for the July 2022–2024 grant cycle.

Manor College, with the support of the grant, will work to educate the college community about dangers of underage and dangerous drinking and provide barriers to underage drinking, The initiative has three goals:

• Increased staffing
• Continuation and enhancement of educational programming
• Prevention education

“We are so grateful to receive the Liquor Control Board grant to help support our efforts to educate students on the dangers of underaged and binge drinking,” Allison Mootz, Vice President of Student Affairs at Manor College, said.“We are excited to continue with our educational programming and are most looking forward to having additional staff in key areas to keep students safe and living a responsible lifestyle.”

With the grant, the institution will hire additional public safety staff to attend basketball games and identify substance abuse within the community early to provide assistance.

In addition, Manor College will add a graduate assistant to the residence life team, supplementing its alcohol prevention programming among resident students.

The PLCB grant comes in addition to two additional funding boosts Manor College received in June: an increase in funding from the W.W. Smith Scholars Program and a Blue Safety Net Grant from the IBC Foundation.
