Wall Street Journal: Morrisville Elementary School One of Many Using Messaging Apps to Keep Parents in the Know
An elementary school in Morrisville is one of many schools around the nation using messaging apps to organize school news for parents. Julie Jargon wrote about the messaging apps for The Wall Street Journal.
As the new school year fast approaches, parents throughout America are not looking forward to a particular aspect of the back-to-school season: emails. Every year, parents are bombarded with emails updating them on school functions, class trips, and health and safety measures.
Now, with the use of messaging apps like Remind, ClassDojo, and Talking Points, parents can have any and all school updates funneled into one spot. These apps also allow them to sign up for volunteer positions, make a calendar, and so much more.
A school in Morrisville is using one of these apps. Morgaine Ford-Workman appreciated when her son’s school started using ClassDojo. Missed emails caused her son to miss out of last year’s Spirit Week. Now, parents like her will have all school updates sent to them in an organized fashion.
