A Fairless Hills-based nonprofit is hosting an event that aims to collect school supplies for children in need in Bucks County. Justin Heinze wrote about the charitable event for the Levittown, PA Patch.

The United Way of Bucks County is hosting an event called “stuff the Bus”, where local residents are encouraged to bring school supplies for the upcoming school year. The donations will go to Bucks County students who are unable to get the supplies themselves.

“Having these essentials ready at all times is incredibly important,” said Katie Matarazzo, the Project Manager of the Stuff the Bus program.

Back in 2021, the nonprofit was able to donate over 3,000 backpacks to local students in need. The organization is also looking to stockpile supplies to have when students require more school items. Donations such as these can make a huge difference in the quality of a child’s education.

Monetary donations are also being accepted in place of school supplies. The charitable event will last until the end of August.
