Bucks County is home to one of the 25 best private high schools in Pennsylvania, according to a recent report published by Stacker.
To compile the list, Stacker used data from Niche.com, which ranked the schools based on:
- Student and academic data from the U.S. Department of Education
- Test scores
- Millions of user ratings
All the schools that made the top 25 received an A+ grade for their overall score.
George School in Newtown made the top ten in seventh place. The school has an enrollment of 540 and a 6:1 student to teacher ratio. The annual tuition is $43,900, and it boasts an average graduation rate of 98 percent.
Among its notable alumni is the recently passed lyricist-composer Stephen Sondheim (‘46) and his friend James Hammerstein (’48), son of lyricist Oscar Hammerstein II.
