Conshohocken Sports Tech Center Puts Golfers on the Links of the British Open’s St. Andrews
Fairways & Dreams, Conshohocken’s new indoor golf center, is hosting its first annual Open Championship. The event celebrates the 150th British Open by enabling guests to “join” the tournament by playing 18 holes on TrackMan’s St. Andrews Old Course.
This shot at something truly unique takes place July 11–17, 2022, — today through Sunday — during summer business hours.
Duffers and scratch-golfers alike who are up to this challenge would be wise to book a bay online in advance. Guests can book a bay for either peak- or off-peak summer hours. They can play for up to four hours per booking.
Signups for specific rounds are accommodated in person.
Fairways & Dreams’ spacious bays can accommodate many guests. The cost per player is $10, in addition to booking the bay. Gross and net prizes will be awarded to winners.
Each tee box uses TrackMan 4 dual radar, the most powerful, accurate, and realistic launch monitor ever built.
TrackMan’s two radars capture golf swings with a built-in HD video camera for instant viewing. From there, technology measures the full flight of shots from launch to landing — including club path and face angle — and displays and maps trajectories real-time.
Players can track measurements such as launch angle, spin rate, and curvature to perfect their games.
For those who would rather observe the pros than try to out shoot them, the virtual experience site is also hosting a complimentary breakfast and watch party (July 14–17).
Additional food and beverage options include those brought from home or purchased nearby (several carry-out options are at the Plymouth Square Shopping Center).
