The Veteran’s Memorial Garden in Perkasie’s Menlo Park is part of the PGC's 2022 tour.

The Perkasie Garden Club (PGC), which blossomed into existence in 1991, isn’t letting something as drab as a calendar limit its 30th anniversary. The organization is still in celebration mode, even this far into 2022, and has ramped up its traditional garden tour as a result. Bob Keeler cultivated this story in The Reporter Online.

The 2022 tour, taking place June 25, will enable participants to gaze at seven beautifully landscaped plots, including Veteran’s Memorial Garden in Perkasie’s Menlo Park and a private home in Sellersville.

The past two years for the PGC saw its calendar interrupted by several factors.

“Our club was unable to meet during COVID,” said member Maryann Fisher. “And then when we tried to meet during the summer outside at member homes, we ran into thunderstorms every time.”

Some tour stops offer more than just the opportunity to gaze. Some gardeners offer merchandise for sale (potted plants, garden gift items). Another promises free home-made cookies.

The Perkasie Garden Club event’s $25 tickets are available at locations that include the Perkasie Farmer’s Market; the full list of ticket-selling sites is in The Reporter Online.
