YMCA of Bucks County, Renown for Building Better Bodies, Builds Better Communities with Cause Memberships
The YMCA of Bucks County is soliciting members to participate in its Cause Memberships program. This special arrangement — a bargain at $10 a month — supports local individuals and families who rely on the Y for essential programs, service, and outreaches.
One hundred percent of the Cause Membership program’s fee goes to helping Bucks County residents in need of assistance with one of the following community concerns:
- Veterans’ support
- Cancer wellness
- Financial barriers to Y programs and services
- Water safety
- Abilities and special needs
- Empowering youth and guiding at-risk youth
- Mental health and social isolation
- Human services
Cause Memberships entail more than just financial support. Each of the eight focus areas has an associated connection group that encourages discussion of solutions to some of Bucks County’s most vexing community issues.
Beyond that, the special membership status also opens participants to the traditional benefits of the Y: health and fitness, mind-body soundness, educational opportunities like culinary classes, and opportunities for family-time togetherness.
There’s a social element to the program as well. Participants can connect with others in forums themed around topics such as mindfulness, nutrition, literature, 5K preparation, and mentoring.
Cause Memberships are available to existing members, who simply augment their existing fees with the monthly $10 payment, and nonmembers, for whom participation does not create a facility membership but provides access to the Y’s virtual platform.
