Like Dancers to an Irish Reel, One Celtic-Themed Bensalem Pub Jigs in to Replace Another

St. Patrick’s Day 2022 was somewhat challenged by its mid-week landing date. Some revelers partook (despite Friday work/family obligations), but those who didn’t still have a worthy opportunity.
A newly renovated and branded Gaelic pub, as reported by John Fey in the Bensalem Patch, is set to welcome revelers who missed Thursday’s festivities — and those ready for a second dose.
Slim’s Irish Pub opened Mar. 5 on the site of the former Brady’s Irish Pub in the Centre Plaza Shopping Center on Galloway Road. Under the new ownership, the location has been fully renovated.
Kevin Beard, co-owner, was a long-time patron at Brady’s, as well as a tenant within the shopping center, where he ran a pizzeria.
He named the new pub after his father-in-law, Thomas “Slim” Lally. Its tagline — “It’s a Lally Thing” — also honors his relative. Lally passed away almost 20 years ago.
The menu provides classic Irish dishes with some surprises. For example, alongside the lamb chops and scratch-made Shepherd’s Pie is a selection of high-end tequilas at the bar.
“As a long-time patron of Brady’s Irish Pub, I feel connected to this location and look forward to Slim’s Irish Pub being part of the community for many years to come,” Beard said.
More on Slim’s is at the Bensalem Patch.
