goFLUENT of Quakertown was chosen by Amazon to assist its employees in obtaining and strengthening English skills.

goFLUENT, whose U.S. headquarters is in Quakertown, has been selected as an English Language Learning (ELL) training partner for Amazon.

The B2B language skill-building company will provide Amazon associates with individualized learning courses that comprise private live coaching, group practice sessions, and access to its AI-powered learning platform.

John Ambrose, company president, commented, “English, for a non-native speaker, is a fundamental, life-changing skill. Of the eight-billion people on the planet, less than 20 percent have the level of proficiency increasingly necessary for economic mobility. goFLUENT is on a mission to change this.”

Amazon’s provision key to employee success is notable because the training comes with no obligation for recipients to stay at the company.

“We’re committed to empowering our employees by providing them access to the education … they need to grow their careers, whether that’s with us or elsewhere,” said Tammy Thieman, global program lead of the Amazon benefit.

The online retailer chose goFLUENT after subjecting it to rigorous selection process for third-party partner educators. It purposefully sought a partner focused on enhancing employee education, building job-placement skills, and escalating employees’ future career success.

To date, more than 50,000 Amazon employees have gained a leg up from its professional and educational programs.
