The potential deal would allow Capital Health to expand their reach to patients all across the area.

The Capital Health renovation of the former Forest Health Medical Center near Oxford Valley Mall is again progressing toward completion. John George reported the project’s revised timeline, delayed by COVID-19, in the Philadelphia Business Journal.

The 55,000-sq.-ft. building that once was a specialty hospital serving surgical weight-loss patients.

It is again on track, after stalling, to become a ‘micro hospital.’ Under its reconfiguration, the location will provide in- and outpatient services and urgent care. No onsite emergency room, however, is in the plans.

The renovation will now add a second floor to the building, in a collaborative effort with Virginia-based Anchor Health Properties.

“We are pleased with the steady progress being made at the future site of Capital Health-Oxford Valley, where we plan to offer inpatient and outpatient services,” said Al Maghazehe, CEO of Capital Health.

Capital Health-Oxford Valley will be the fifth Bucks County location for the health system. It has primary care offices in Washington Crossing, Newtown, Langhorne, and Levittown.

The project’s original 2021 completion date has been pushed back to early 2024.
