An anonymous donor is funding tech upgrades at St. Mary Medical Center.

New tech equipment and software is coming to St. Mary Medical Center, yet the Langhorne healthcare facility has no one to thank for the resources to purchase it. That’s because the $750K gift came from a generous donor who prefers to maintain his or her anonymity.

The donation will upgrade the technology associated with the St. Mary Heart and Vascular Center, enhancing patient experiences and ensuring best-possible post-op outcomes.

“This incredibly generous donation will go a long way in keeping St. Mary on the cutting edge of technology for heart and vascular care,” said Ronald Fields, MD, medical director of the cardiovascular program at St. Mary Medical Center.

Hospital sources say the investment will fund the purchase tools to improve visualization of anatomical structures, reduce radiation emissions, and seamlessly integrate software within the cardiac catheterization labs.

Expected benefits include:

  • 17 percent reduction in procedure times
  • 12 percent reduction in patient preparation times
  • Reductions in radiation emissions for cardiac imaging and vascular imaging
  • Real-time image processing with greater clarity and quality

“St. Mary prides itself on our ability to provide the entire spectrum of cardiac services,” said Lawrence Brilliant, MD, MBA, FACEP, president of the medical center. “Our patients enjoy the convenience, completeness and safety of a full-service heart and vascular center. That wouldn’t be possible without philanthropic support, for which we are immensely grateful.”
