Intraprise Health, Yardley, has announced the hiring of George Pappas as Chief Executive Officer. The news of the new leader was piggybacked with an announcement of growth-investment funding from dual sources.

Pappas is a healthcare technology veteran who most recently served as Chief Customer Officer and Chief Operating Officer at DrFirst, a Rockville, Md., medication management company. Prior to that, Pappas was Chief Operating Officer of Motionsoft, a fitness industry software company in Chapel Hill, N.C.

Cybersecurity has become a healthcare industry necessity, from large healthcare systems to individual provider practices. Malicious attacks among practitioners of all types of providers have threatened patient care, interrupted business, and yielded regulatory penalties.

Pappas commented on his new role, saying, “I’m thrilled to be joining Intraprise Health as it continues its upward growth in the healthcare risk management arena. The company’s deep roots in healthcare security services make their integrated risk management software compelling for organizations that struggle with the cost and effort needed to safeguard their operations from cyber-attacks.”

The company announcement of a strategic growth investment cites private equity firms Health Enterprise Partners (New York City) and Bluff Point Associates (Groton, Conn.) as participants.
