Last Friday night’s girls’ basketball game between Council Rock North High School (Newtown) and Academy Park High School (Sharon Hill) took on significance well beyond baskets and blocking. FOX29 News covered the play action that made a student feel ten feet tall.

Megan Bissol is not only a big fan of the team, she’s also included among the squad’s managers.

But her big dream was to play on the hardwood herself.

In a move orchestrated by the athletes, that wish was granted in the Academy Park match-up. As part of a special “Senior Night,” Bissol was invited to join her court cohorts.

“She’s definitely our biggest fan; we always hear her the loudest on the bench. She comes to all the games home or away. And everyone just adores her,” senior teammate Kristen Polinsky said.

Best of all, Bissol was on fire that night. She scored on her first shot. And put a total of six points on the board during her play.

“It was awesome. That smile, that laugh and the girls running to hug her. She looked like a million bucks out there,” Megan’s mother said.

Bissol even nailed the post-game interview.

“I wanted to thank my fans about my career,” she said.
