Season 11 of CBS’ Undercover Boss will put Rita’s Ice CEO Linda Chadwick behind the chilly tubs of one of her Trevose-headquartered frozen treat kiosks. Ryan Mulligan reported the sticky role-swap for the Philadelphia Business Journal.

Chadwick’s stint scooping lemon, cherry, and watermelon ices airs on the Jan. 28 edition of the role-swap reality show.

She’s been atop the Rita’s brand since August 2017. But her past may have equipped her well to deal with a public long on desire and short on patience. Chadwick started her career as a Burger King manager, riding the chain all the way to a VP slot.

Rita’s Italian Ice opened in Bensalem in 1984 and now operates close to 550 locations across 30 different states, as well as Asia.

CBS says that Chadwick will go undercover to “see how her new initiatives are working and to help franchisees become more profitable.” Rita’s recently implemented mobile ordering and delivery services during the pandemic.

The brand has undergone rapid expansion; there are 50 Rita’s locations in the immediate Philadelphia area.

More on the senior leader of Rita’s Ice facing customers at the counter is at the Philadelphia Business Journal.
