Dr. Bridget O’Connell, Palisades School District administrator, is the 2022 Pa. Superintendent of the Year, as reported by WFMZ 69 News.

Dr. O’Connell, who has been with the district for the past decade, was honored particularly for her community involvement and her education advocacy.

Under her leadership, the district has been recognized numerous times. It was included on the 2021 U.S. News & World Report list of 100 best high schools in the Commonwealth.

“Dr. O’Connell is the consummate professional,” said Dr. Mark Hoffman, Executive Director of Bucks County Intermediate Unit. “She has mentored countless educators, administrators, and colleague superintendents throughout her career. She is active locally among Bucks County superintendents and is seen as a leader-among-peers in southeastern Pennsylvania and in the Lehigh Valley.”

Dr. David Damsker, director of the Bucks County Health Department commented: “Dr. O’Connell [is] an educational and community leader that truly seeks to understand the complexities of public health in order to clearly communicate reliable and accurate information not only to her school district community but throughout the county.”

Palisades School District serves students in Bridgeton, Durham, Nockamixon, Springfield, and Tinicum Townships.

The presentation of Dr. O’Connell’s award will take place in February at the AASA National Conference on Education.
