Four Bucks County families have turned to the federal court system to halt the mask mandate of Central Bucks School District. Most of their objections are standard for people who find the policies an overreach. One, however, dials up the heated rhetoric with a mention of Satanism. Victor Fiorillo peered into that darkness for Philadelphia Magazine.

Four parents — Shannon Harris, Jamie Walker, Timothy Tressler, and Christopher Doebler — are suing the district on behalf of their combined eight children. They intend to make the case in federal court that the policy’s damage to their children includes anxiety, depression, discomfort, and nervous tics.

Harris, however, asserts that her son finds that “masks are being used as a control mechanism over the population.”

Further, she objects to them on religious grounds.

In short, the Harris family considers wearing a mask a “Satanic ritual.”

The Reverend Raul Antony, however, disagrees. He is a spokesperson for the official Church of Satan.

“No, simply ‘wearing a mask’ is not a Satanic ritual, and anyone that genuinely thinks otherwise is a blithering idiot,” Antony said.

“More often than not, these people don’t actually believe that, but just label anything they don’t like as ‘Satanic.’”
