HealthLink Dental Clinic, Southampton, has partnered with two local outreaches to supply Tooth Fairy care packages to needy children.

The packages include a personalized letter and autographed picture from the Tooth Fairy, as well as a tooth brush, toothpaste, floss, small toys, and information on good dental hygeine.

The clinic partnered with A Woman’s Place and Tabor Children’s Services, both of Doylestown, to connect the supplies with families that can benefit from them.

“While HealthLink does not provide dental services to children, oral health education to all members of our community is a very important part of our mission,” said Executive Director Raquel Braemer. “We know that individuals who develop good oral health habits during their childhood are much more likely to continue those habits into adulthood, which can help to prevent many serious dental issues.”

HealthLink’s Tooth Fairy care packages are part of a larger community and family-based education program that the organization launched in February 2021 called Project Tooth Fairy. The program offers fun ways to engage families and children in learning the importance of good oral health.

Components include:

  • Virtual story times with the Tooth Fairy herself
  • Tooth Fairy Fan Club packs for children who have:
    • Recently lost a tooth
    • Had a good visit at the dentist
    • Are nervous about an upcoming visit at the dentist
    • Need a gentle reminders to brush and floss
