Bucks County Hospital Bed Capacity: If You Need the ICU, You’ve Got the Best Odds in the Area of Getting In

Bucks County is in the lower half of counties with a low hospital bed capacity in Pennsylvania, according to a new ranking by Stacker.

Stacker compiled a list of the counties with the lowest in-patient bed capacities in the state as of September 29. Its rankings came from an assessment of data from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

Bucks County ranked No. 43, with 69 percent of inpatient beds occupied, six percent of those by COVID-19 patients. This is 17.9 more availability than overall in Pennsylvania.

The county has 62 percent of occupied ICU beds, nine percent of which are COVID-19 patients. This is 25.3 percent more availability than in the Keystone State overall.

The county recorded 167 coronavirus cases per 100,000 residents in the past seven days, or 1,049 cases total.

Meanwhile, the percentage of the fully vaccinated population is at 62.3 percent, or 391,441 fully vaccinated residents. This is a 7.8 percent higher vaccination rate than in Pennsylvania.

  • Chester County, No. 36
  • Delaware County, No. 32
  • Montgomery County, No. 26
