On September 30, Jean Keeler, president and CEO of Grand View Health, will close her Sellersville office door for the last time. Keeler, who rose from general counsel to vice president to the highest office in the organization, is retiring after nearly 40 years of service. John George covered her well-earned respite for the Philadelphia Business Journal.

Keeler is credited with overseeing a vigorous expansion effort across the health system. Her accomplishments include:

  • A six-story, 190,000-square-foot expansion of Grand View Hospital, scheduled for a 2023 completion. That project also encompasses:
    • The Dublin Outpatient Center
    • Relocation of the Pennsburg Outpatient Center
    • Construction of Colmar’s Health Center for Orthopaedics & Neurosurgery
  • Creation of an accredited Level II adult trauma center
  • Partnering with Penn Medicine for clinical care programs in orthopedics, cancer, and trauma

In reflecting on her decision to exit from the healthcare industry, Keeler said, “The people who work here and this place have become my family and my other home for decades. But it is time to hand my responsibilities to the amazing leadership team that will remain here to plan for the future of Grand View Health.”

Douglas Hughes, Grand View’s senior vice president and chief strategy officer, will serve as interim CEO.

More on the retirement of Jean Keeler is at the Philadelphia Business Journal.
