The popularity of golf skyrocketed during the pandemic. It’s understandable: The sport is outdoors and contactless among players (substituting an elbow bump for a back pat to celebrate those exceptionally good shots). It can also be expensive. But it doesn’t have to be. Laura Brzyski, for Philadelphia Magazine, reported these Bucks County greens fees of less than $30:

The Bucks Club

2600 York Road, Jamison

Nestled in upper Bucks County, The Bucks Club’s golf course features 18 holes and rolling greens that’ll make both novices and seasoned golfers feel at home. The club has an in-house PGA guru whose expertise is available 1:1 or in group classes.

Monday through Friday, tee times after 11 a.m. are as low as $30 walking ($42 for a cart).

Five Ponds Golf Club

1225 West Street Road, Warminster

Five Ponds was just lauded as Pennsylvania golf course of the year by the National Golf Course Owners Association. If you haven’t played here before, know that its name signifies more than just terrific views (think water hazards; bring extra balls if you habitually hook or shank).

Best rates are after 3 p.m. during the week ($27 to walk, $42 to ride). If must shoot on a weekend, the price tag ranges $32-$71, depending on time and cart opt-in.

Neshaminy Valley Golf Club

440 Almshouse Road, Jamison

These links were once a milk farm. The transformation was courtesy club founder Charles Schneider.

Neshaminy Valley Golf Club is surrounded by woods. The Neshaminy Creek’s proximity to hole 14 is just one of its pretty vistas.

Walkers pay just $24 ($30 for carters) after 1 p.m. during the week. Weekend rates float to $30-$54, depending when you attack the course and how you tote your clubs.
