Pennsylvania is one of the states in which millennials thrive, according to a new report by WalletHub. 

The Keystone State is ranked tenth on the 2021’s Best States for Millennials list. 

To determine the most livable places for millennials, WalletHub compared the 50 states and the District of Columbia based on 34 key metrics divided into five categories:

1. Affordability
2. Education
3. Health/quality of life
4. Economic health
5. Civic engagement

Pennsylvania achieved ranked highest (ninth place) for civic engagement. The Commonwealth also had a high placement in education, as well as health and quality of life (16th place for both). In affordability, it ranked at No. 23, and in economic health, No. 25. 

Some of the specific factors that make Pennsylvania a good place to live for mid-20-to-early-40-somethings include:

• Percentage of insured millennials (No. 9)
• Average monthly earnings for millennials (No. 16)
• Housing costs for millennials (No. 18)
• Millennial homeownership rate (No. 29)

Additionally, the Keystone State is in the lower half of the list based on the number of unemployed millennials, landing at No. 29.
