Not Even a Fire Could Keep Springfield Couple From Their Blue Bell Wedding Day

By

A Springfield wedding couple and guests certainly weren’t expecting a fire before the wedding. Luckily, there were no injuries and firefighters were able to save the wedding dress, writes David Chang, Dan Stamm and Deanna Durante for NBC Philadelphia.

Caitlin Kerezsi and groom Kevin Pace were at dinner when they learned the historic guest house where they and several wedding party guests were staying was on fire.

The couple was checking out the ballroom at the Normandy Farm Hotel & Conference Center in Blue Bell for their wedding reception and were staying at the guest house on the property.

“I was just like this can’t be happening again,” Kerezsi said.

They had already postponed their wedding twice—first because of the coronavirus when they settled for a small backyard ceremony.

The second time was supposed to be at Normandy, but had to be postponed.

Now the fire.

Fortunately, there were no injuries and some wedding party belongings were saved, including Kerezski’s water-soaked wedding gown and bridesmaid’s dresses.

The fire was under control in about an hour.

The wedding continued Friday night as planned at the main hotel, which was not affected.
