The judges for the second-annual Spark Bowl — the Shark Tank-esque competition at Delaware Valley University — are eagerly anticipating the new business concepts that will be pitched to them.

Five local businesses and their student consultants will face this panel, vying for awards, capital and bragging rights.

The competition rewards visionary, noteworthy concepts among Bucks County entrepreneurs, innovators and nonprofit organizations. All participating teams address a social, consumer or business-oriented challenge in and around Bucks County.

The students who help in the 15-minute presentations gain valuable skills that range from business plans and projections to public speaking and professional poise.

The 2021 judges are:

  • Sue Lonergan, Director, Middle Market & Specialized Commercial Banking, Fulton Bank
  • Dr. Donna Marie De Carolis, Dean of the Drexel University Charles D. Close School of Entrepreneurship
  • Michael Araten, President and CEO of Sterling Drive Ventures, LP
  • William R. Schutt, Founder and Former Owner of MATCOR, Inc.
