Philadelphia’s Italian Market, stretching along South 9th Street from Wharton to Fitzwater Streets, is the oldest and continuously operating outdoor market in the United States.
Established in the late 19th century by Italian immigrants, it has evolved into a vibrant, multicultural marketplace. Today, it offers a rich tapestry of vendors selling fresh produce, meats, seafood, spices, and baked goods, alongside specialty shops, cafes, and restaurants.
