Gather Place Celebrates America’s 250th with the Community: Explore Our Nation’s Story Through Bucks County Abolitionist Trail

Gather Place serves as the official Bucks County Abolitionist Trail Anchor Site for America’s 250th anniversary commemorations.

Gather Place is inviting residents and visitors alike to join in celebrating America’s 250th Anniversary by exploring the people, places, and stories that helped shape our nation through the Bucks County Abolitionist Trail.

As Bucks County’s official Abolitionist Trail Anchor Site, Gather Place offers a unique opportunity to discover the inspiring stories of freedom seekers, abolitionists, Underground Railroad allies, and local citizens whose courage and commitment to liberty helped advance the American promise of freedom and equality for all.

Since opening in 2022, Gather Place has welcomed visitors to experience the rich connections between African American History, Women’s History, Local History, and National History—demonstrating that America’s story belongs to all of us.

“America’s 250th is an opportunity for communities to come together, learn from the past, and celebrate the individuals who helped build a more perfect union,” said Shirley Lee Corsey, curator and conservator of Gather Place. “We invite everyone to explore these remarkable stories and discover how Bucks County played a meaningful role in our nation’s journey.”

History isn’t just something we remember; it’s something we experience together.
