Bucks County Community College and La Salle University have signed two transfer agreements that could save students more than $114,000 who complete their associate degree at Bucks County Community College before transferring to La Salle University.

The presidents of both institutions signed the agreements on Monday, May 11, at BCCC’s Newtown Campus, strengthening a partnership between the two-year public college and the Philadelphia-based Catholic university.

Two Agreements, Two New Pathways

The first agreement allows students who graduate from Bucks County Community College’s Honors@Bucks program to transfer seamlessly to La Salle University’s honors program.

The second agreement targets a broader group of Bucks graduates. Students who earn an associate degree with a GPA of at least 3.0 and sign a dual-admission agreement in advance can enter select La Salle business or technology bachelor’s degree programs with a guaranteed minimum merit scholarship of $20,000 per year for their junior and senior years.

For students who choose to pursue a combined bachelor’s and master’s degree in an eligible business or technology program, the savings go even further: a 20 percent tuition discount applies to the master’s portion — and both degrees can be completed at La Salle in just three years.

The Numbers That Matter

Students who complete their associate degree at Bucks before transferring to La Salle under the dual admission agreement save almost $114,000 compared to enrolling directly at a four-year institution.

“Each year, we graduate students who have proven their academic rigor through our highly-rated honors, business, and technology programs,” said Bucks County Community College President and CEO Patrick M. Jones, Ph.D. “These agreements will open doors for Bucks graduates to continue to excel at La Salle University while saving more than two-thirds on the cost of their bachelor’s degree.”

A Shared Commitment to Access

For La Salle University, the partnership reflects a commitment to making higher education achievable for students who might otherwise face financial barriers to completing a four-year degree.

“This agreement is a reflection of our shared commitment to breaking down barriers to higher education and supporting student success,” said La Salle University President Daniel J. Allen, Ph.D. “Not only will students receive a clear and supportive pathway beginning by earning their associate degree at Bucks and continuing their education at La Salle, but the scholarship and tuition discount available through this partnership will also provide impactful financial support. This can make a significant difference for students and their families as they pursue their educational goals.”
