Tony Award-winning producer Alex Fraser and his husband Peter Maloney have listed their New Hope home for sale, according to the Philadelphia Business Journal.
The restored 1700s-era estate is priced at approximately $3.25 million, a fitting bookend to one of the most unlikely success stories in Bucks County history.
When Fraser arrived in New Hope in 2014, he brought a Tony Award, an unshakeable optimism, and a little three-legged dog.
What he found was a Bucks County Playhouse with almost no audience and a community unsure what to make of him.
Twelve years later, that skepticism is long gone.
Teaming up with Executive Producer Robyn Goodman and Producer Josh Fiedler, Fraser helped transform the Playhouse into a nationally recognized, year-round cultural destination.
The annual operating budget grew from $2 million to $12.1 million. Attendance topped 100,000 visitors a year.
When the pandemic threatened to erase everything they had built, the community showed up, raising $2 million in just a few months so Fraser could keep every single staff member employed.
The impact stretched well beyond the theater‘s walls.
New Hope Mayor Larry Keller, who had watched the borough for 27 years, said nothing came close to what happened after Fraser walked through the door.
Fraser steps down in June 2026, but don’t expect him to stay quiet for long.
He’s already looking ahead to new musicals and nightclub experiences, the next chapter for a producer who clearly isn’t done making things happen.
The New Hope home he and Maloney are leaving behind reflects the community they helped shape. Historic bones, modern updates, and a story worth telling.
