Philadelphia Eagles Owner Jeffrey Lurie Talks Prioritizing Fan Experience for Future Stadium

Jeffrey Lurie and the Eagles are currently engaged in “exploratory research” on a new stadium as its lease at Lincoln Financial Field expires in 2032.

The Philadelphia Eagles‘ lease at Lincoln Financial Field is set to expire in 2032, so Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie is being deliberate as he explores various options in regards to what comes next, writes Olivia Reiner for The Philadelphia Inquirer.

As of now, the team is conducting “exploratory research” on the possibility of a new or renovated stadium for the Eagles.

With prospects up in the air, the fan experience will be the focal point throughout this process.

“It’s really important. I think we want to maximize fan amenities and attract the best possible environment for Philadelphia. And to do that, you’ve really got to do the exploratory research. Don’t rush into it. This is a big decision,” Lurie said during his recent annual news conference.

Among the factors included in the decision is site location.

The Eagles have called the South Philadelphia Sports Complex its home since 1971. Meanwhile, all six of the team’s permanent home stadiums over the franchise’s 92-year history have been within city limits.

Any potential location changes have not been ruled out.

However, Lurie reiterates that “whatever’s best for the fans” will be the top priority when decisions have to start being made.

The location, architecture, and design will all be addressed with the fan experience front of mind.
