Delaware Valley University has received an It’s On Us PA grant from the Pennsylvania Department of Education. The $36,000 grant supports DelVal’s Expanding and Enhancing Sexual Assault Prevent Efforts project launched in honor of April being Sexual Assault Awareness Month.
The proposed project outlines a comprehensive, multi-layered approach to strengthening sexual violence prevention, awareness, and response across campus.
The initiative includes:
- Three Sexual Assault Campus Climate surveys to students, faculty, and staff
- A campus-wide sexual assault awareness campaign that promotes consent, bystander intervention, reporting processes, and available campus and community resources
- Specialized, evidence-based training sessions for high-impact and higher-risk student populations
- Advanced Title IX training for faculty and staff
- Re-introduction of DelVal’s Take Back the Night event
The efforts of this initiative close awareness and prevention gaps, support survivors, and foster a campus culture rooted in consent, safety, and respect, with clear outcomes tied to participation rates, knowledge gains, service utilization, and student engagement. A cross-campus committee will use the results to identify strengths, gaps, and priorities — all work funded by the It’s On Us PA grant.
“I am deeply grateful for the Pennsylvania Department of Education’s It’s On Us PA grant, which makes this important work possible,” said Karolina Dreher, Dean of Students at Delaware Valley University. “This funding allows us to strengthen prevention efforts, expand education, and better support survivors as we continue fostering a campus culture grounded in safety, respect, and care.”
