More Bucks County Families May Qualify for Water Bill and Leak Repair Assistance Than You Think

Aqua Pennsylvania has replaced more than 2,500 lead and galvanized customer-owned service lines since 2024 as part of its ongoing effort to remove lead from drinking water systems across the Commonwealth.

For many of us, spring brings a renewed look at household budgets. As you plan for the year ahead, there’s an opportunity you might not be aware of: Aqua Pennsylvania has updated its federal income guidelines for 2026, which means more families may now qualify for assistance than ever before.

If you’ve never explored our programs — or assumed you wouldn’t qualify — this is a good time to check again.

Our Customer Assistance Program (CAP)

Our Customer Assistance Program (CAP) is designed to provide ongoing relief for customers who need it most. The program adjusts your bill based on your household income and size, making water service affordable and predictable month after month.

With the updated 2026 income guidelines, eligibility has expanded. Families who may have been just over the threshold before could now qualify for meaningful savings. Checking your eligibility takes just a few minutes — and it could make a real difference in your monthly expenses.

Aqua Aid Pennsylvania

In addition to CAP, our Aqua Aid program offers another layer of support for customers facing temporary hardship. This program is funded entirely by donations from our shareholders and neighbors who want to help their communities. Contributions are tax-deductible. Aqua Aid helps ensure that families can maintain uninterrupted water service when times get tough.

Aqua’s Leak Repair Program

If you are income-eligible for CAP, you may also qualify for plumbing assistance with leak repairs. Hidden leaks can quietly drive up water usage without you ever noticing. Some customers may not even realize that hidden leaks are silently impacting their monthly bills. A running toilet or slow drip might not seem like much, but over time, they can add hundreds of gallons to your monthly usage. You can identify leaks yourself with simple tests.

Try these quick checks:

· Water Meter Check: Turn off all water in your home for two hours. Check your meter before and after. If the numbers changed, you’ve got a leak somewhere.

· Toilet Test: Drop food coloring into your toilet tank (not the bowl). Wait 15 to 20 minutes without flushing. If color appears in the bowl, your toilet is leaking.

If you suspect a leak, contact Aqua customer service first before you contact a plumber or technician. Our team can review your usage patterns and help you determine next steps. Once a leak is confirmed — like a running toilet — we’ll walk you through your options for getting it fixed through our Leak Repair Program.

Spring is the perfect time to explore options you might have overlooked. Visit Aqua Pennsylvania’s website or call our customer service team to learn more about CAP, Aqua Aid, Leak Repair Program, and conservation kits. Review the updated 2026 income guidelines and see if your household qualifies.

You might be surprised to discover you are eligible for assistance you didn’t know was available — and that one application could connect you to multiple programs ready to offer support.
