Freedom Village Collects 200 Pounds of Food for Soup for the Super Bowl Food Drive

This year's "Soup for the Super Bowl" food drive was a big success at Freedom Village at Brandywine.

Freedom Village at Brandywine put a charitable twist on Super Bowl weekend, giving back through its annual “Soup for the Super Bowl” food drive and collecting 200 pounds of nonperishable food for the Chester County Food Bank.

Held the Friday before the big game, the fundraiser encouraged team spirit and community impact. Staff members donated canned goods and other nonperishable items in exchange for the opportunity to wear jeans and their favorite sports team jerseys or gear to work.

All collected items were donated directly to the Chester County Food Bank, helping support local individuals and families facing food insecurity.

“This event not only supports our neighbors in need, but also brings our staff together in a fun, meaningful way,” said Danielle Geyer, Executive Director of Freedom Village at Brandywine. “It’s incredible to see how small acts of generosity can add up to make such a big difference.”

The annual initiative reflects Freedom Village’s ongoing commitment to community engagement and service, finding creative ways to combine camaraderie with compassion.

Freedom Village at Brandywine is a continuing care retirement community in Pennsylvania, managed by Life Care Services. The community offers a full continuum of care, including independent living, assisted living, memory care, and skilled nursing.
