Two Philadelphia Firms to Merge, Deal Expected to Help Each Expand and Integrate Portfolios

Marketing and advertising firm Athena Global Advisors and communications and public relations firm Ceisler Media & Issue Advocacy are merging.

Philadelphia firms Ceisler Media & Issue Advocacy and Athena Global Advisors, respectively, are set to merge, writes Jeff Blumenthal for the Philadelphia Business Journal.

Both firms are in the belief that the merger will help each expand and integrate their portfolios of client services moving forward.

As a result of the merger, Athena, a marketing and advertising firm, will be doubling its office space as it moves from the Graham Building to Three Logan Square. While Athena will occupy the entire 8th floor of its new space, communications and public relations firm, Ceisler, will stay in its offices at One Logan Square.

The merger will see Ceisler Media become an Athena company; however, it will continue to do business under its current brand and maintain its operational independence. Founder Larry Ceisler and the entire Ceisler Media leadership team will also stay in place and its staff will also remain.

According to Ceisler, a number of firms have made merger and acquisition offers over the past three decades, but Athena has ever seemed like the right fit until Athena came around.

“Maggy runs a business that creates opportunities for her employees that I can’t match,” Ceisler said, referring to Athena CEO Maggy Wilkinson.

The merger deal is set to close Saturday, February 28.
