Atlas Restaurant Group is set to open its second Philadelphia restaurant, introducing its steakhouse concept The Ruxton at The Rittenhouse Hotel, writes Emma Dooling for the Philadelphia Business Journal.
The Ruxton will replace Italian restaurant Scarpetta, which is scheduled to close on January 31. Construction is expected to begin in the fall, with the two-story restaurant that is expected to open in 2027 following a multimillion-dollar renovation by Atlas Restaurant Group.
With more than 50 restaurants open or in the pipeline, Atlas Restaurant Group has built a growing presence across Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, and Texas. The group first entered the Philadelphia market in 2023 with Loch Bar, the fourth location of its seafood restaurant concept, which opened inside Arthaus on South Broad Street.
The Ruxton debuted in Baltimore in 2024 and, alongside Philadelphia, will add a location in National Harbor, Maryland.
The menu at The Ruxton, overseen by Atlas Restaurant Group Corporate Chef Aaron Taylor, will showcase an array of steak and seafood dishes. The restaurant will be able to accommodate 220 guests and will feature three dining rooms and two bars, along with a seasonal patio with sweeping views of Rittenhouse Square.
