28-year-old Alessandro “Alex” Fiorello, who owns Alessandro’s Wood Fired Italian in Wayne and Alessandro’s Pizzeria in West Chester, is planning on opening a new location outside of Chester County, writes Michael Klein for The Philadelphia Inquirer.
Fiorello’s newest concept will be a bar-focused spot in Bryn Mawr Village, taking over the former Il Fiore location.
His Wayne restaurant opened in 2020 as an upscale casual neighborhood osteria that built a strong takeout business while maintaining a busy dining room.
His West Chester pizzeria is a casual lunch and slice shop that also offers cheesesteaks and salads.
Fiorello got an early introduction to the restaurant business thanks to his father, who ran Fiorella’s Café in West Chester. His mother’s family operated pizza shops in New York, and he is considering naming his newest restaurant Enoteca Alessandro’s or Alessandro’s Enoteca.
He plans on preserving the industrial style of the space and believes that the strong existing infrastructure will help speed up the renovation.
“This new place will be a step up from Wayne,” said Fiorello. “Still approachable but more bar-focused, with a great bar scene.”
