If you’re looking for an authentic New York bagel, Holland’s Liam’s Market and Bagels in the Pheasant Valley Center is the perfect place to check out, writes Jeff Werner for Patch.
Liam’s owner, Alex Trier, travels to Manhattan to get fresh dough once or twice a week.
“You’re eating the same bagel that you would be eating in New York City right here in Bucks County,” said Trier. “We’re here every morning at 4:30 baking them fresh for the customers.”
Customers can enjoy a variety of flavors, including plain, everything, sesame, cinnamon raisins and more. Those who stop by on the weekend can check out their pumpernickel whole wheat and rainbow bagels.
Breakfast sandwiches, omelets, and cream cheese flavors, with options like regular, veggie, scallion, and lox, are also available to try.
The shop also offers typical convenience store items, along with a coffee machine and a make-your-own-shake machine.
“That sets us apart from other bagel shops that close at 2 p.m.,” Trier said. “At our store, we turn the grill off at 2, but we continue to stay open as a local, family community store. If anyone needs ice cream, milk, drinks, snacks, and candy, we’re like a mom and pop convenience store for the local community.”
