West Rockhill Township native Lou Trivino, the relief pitcher for the Philadelphia Phillies, shared a special moment with a fan at a recent game, writes Tom Haines for the Bucks County Courier Times.
After their Friday win against the Minnesota Twins, Trivino saw an older woman wearing a Phanatic jumper waving him over to the first base stands.
He was excited to discover that the fan was his former third-grade teacher, Mrs. Yeager.
Yeager was let onto the field by security, and the pair reconnected, chatting with one another. Trivino gave her a hug and an autograph before parting ways.
The relief pitcher graduated from Upper Bucks Christian School and played baseball for the Quakertown Blazers and the Pennridge Legion as a kid.
Trivino said he’s “very thankful to be with the hometown team.”
Before joining the Phillies, Trivino served as the closer for the Oakland Athletics, appearing in five playoff games since his 2018 debut. He later went on to pitch for the New York Yankees.
