Falls Township Police Rename Donation Drive for Mental Health, Homeless Advocate

Falls Township police are renaming the DASH donation drive in honor of mental health and homeless advocate Christopher Cramp.

The DASH donation drive is being renamed by Falls Township police in recognition of mental health and homeless advocate Christopher Cramp, writes Jo Ciavaglia for the Bucks County Courier Times.

Cramp, who was passionate about helping some of the most vulnerable people in society, died while trying to prevent his son from taking his own life on train tracks.

Having personally experienced struggles with homelessness and mental health, the 56-year-old Bristol man knew firsthand the challenges faced by others in similar situations. He began helping as a mental health peer specialist and later served as project coordinator for the Bucks County Housing and Community Development Department.

“His belief in empowerment—helping others regain their dignity and stability—was at the heart of everything he did,” said Falls police Lt. Christopher Clark.

This year, in honor of his life, Falls Township police have renamed their collection drive that helps homeless organizations after him.

Starting Oct. 1 and continuing through November, the Christopher Cramp Direct Appeal to Support the Homeless is looking for donations of nonperishable food, personal hygiene products, tents and warm clothing, along with other essential supplies.
